when sonny asks frank if he knows what sonny wanted to be growing up and frank genuinely asks "a cop?" it's exactly how aziraphale thinks crowley would want to be an angel again, that that is something crowley always wanted because he apparently used to be happy as one. they don't yet fully understand the other and only see them and try to make sense of them through the lens of their own warped worldview. when frank tells sonny to give up his life of crime and go legit because he can tell sonny is "not a bad guy" it's exactly how aziraphale thinks of crowley as not a bad guy, not really a demon demon, able to be restored to being "good", but both don't realise that what they think "good" is is not right and the other isn't looking to fit their goodness into a set of rules, they need to be free more than anything. they need to be loved more than anything.
